Once home to the Zenufana people, Venecia is now recognized as a national archeological reserve famous for its holy caves and ancient petroglyphs. A short walk from Cero Tusa Resort & Residences one can explore sacred historical sites such as the Altar de Ofrendas, a monolithic stone altar at the foot of Cerro Tusa. From its ancient stone steps one can gaze up at the “Cara de la Diosa,” the face of the goddess, a natural formation which has been revered for centuries.
